Dear Orange County Transportation Authority, Currently, on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, the last #89 to Mission Viejo leaves Laguna Beach at 8:21p. The last #89 for Laguna Beach leaves Mission Viejo at 7:29p That's painfully early if you want to go out--and get back home--on a prime Friday or Saturday night! What about Sunday dinner at grandma's house? Public transit in Orange County needs to be more than just a commuter convenience and should run beyond workers' commute hours. More money from the transportation pie needs to be spent on public transit vs. widening roads for cars. You build roads, it enables driving and encourages more traffic. You build more public transit and people will step out of their cars. Route #89 connects with Route #1, on which you recently granted later operating hours. Let's keep up the momentum! Providing later service--at least on weekends--will benefit existing riders and attract new riders--and revenues--to the system. You ran the #89 later during the summer and the undersigned respectfully requests later service on weekends and holidays on the Route #89 year-round.
